# Underground/ Emir Kusturica
# Y Tu Mama Tambien/ Alfonso Cuaron
# The Night Porter/ Liliana Cavani
# Y Tu Mama Tambien/ Alfonso Cuaron
# The Piano Teacher/ Michael Haneke
I’ve just discovered recently that most of my favorite films are highly sexual. I’m not only interested in eroticism per se, but how great films interweave sexuality with issues of power and politics. The Night Porter is a role reversal of victim-perpetrator relationship, playing out the sadomasochistic fantasies about the sexualized image of an S.S. officer. The raunchy sex fantasy of an older woman and a disturbing discovery of homoeroticism in Y Tu Mama Tambien serve as a metaphor for sociopolitical situations in Mexico. Finally, The Piano Teacher explores desire and madness in contrast to the rigid Law of the Father represented by the Vienna conservatorium.
